The Story
For a long time, I lived in the gradients of grey. I was the people pleaser, the one navigating the world through the fog of unhealed wounds and the quiet ache of trauma. Back then, my value felt like something I had to earn—a subconscious search for validation that kept me looping in the shadows of who I thought I was supposed to be. I had a heart that subconsciously did not know it needed to be healed until I was presented with a supernatural divine moment that showed me my wounds and unhealedness. I was raw fragility, buried under the weight of expectations and the fear of not being enough.
But then came the fire.
This painting is the visual record of my purge. It captures that sacred, intense moment where the heat of life's trials began to burn away the broken layers. As the smoke of the past cleared, I stopped looking for a reflection of myself in others and found the gold within.
In this piece, you see the obsidian depths of the struggles I have left behind and the sophisticated greys of the lessons I have learned. But most importantly, you see the gold. These are segments of pure, refined, and unadulterated gold that are incredibly radiating through my shimmering reflective self with so much worth and so much love. It is the vibrant, iridescent evidence of my refinement. It represents my soul resurrected: no longer seeking permission to shine, but standing pure, solidified, and sovereign.
